Islam: Is It a Peaceful Religion?

KHARTOUM, Sudan — Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear “Muhammad.”

Many politicians like to state that Islam is a peace loving religion. There are thousands of Sudanese Muslims protesting and trying their best to have Gillian Gibbons put to death.

What is her terrible crime? She allowed her children to vote! Is it possible for Democracy and Islam to coexist?

Show me a country that is control by a majority of Muslims and I’ll show you a country that does not give all of its citizens equal rights. If you are a Muslim Male you are the top of the “food chain.” Gibbons already started off at the very bottom: a female non-Muslim… little more than property in most Islamic countries.

This story reminds me of the time when the pope quoted a writer from the middle ages. The Pope wanted reason and dialogue. Instead the true nature of the Islamic religion expressed itself: narrow minded hatred and contempt for all that are not Muslim.

Can there be a healthy democracy in countries that will call for the murder of other citizens over kids voting to call a cute teddy bear “Muhammad?” I doubt it. In the end though, I guess the rioters and those with murder in their hearts are just following the example and life of Muhammad… who was a man of murder and bigotry.

I hope our nation will wake up before its too late….
